About

Welcome!

My name is Bria and I’m the creator of this blog. One important thing to note about BriaAlex is that yes, this blog is named after me, but it isn’t just for me. It’s for you and others like you.

BriaAlex is a lifestyle blog that focuses on helping young women live their best lives by following three main pillars.

Self-exploration, self-development and self-growth.

I came up with the idea of this blog during the summer before my sophomore year of college. Having just completed my freshman year, I felt overwhelming lost in all aspects of my life. I needed an outlet where I could be creative and space to really delve into what I was going through.

After my sophomore year of college, I had a skateboarding accident and ended up with a Grade 2 Ankle Sprain that left me unable to walk normally for almost five months. I was in incredible amounts of pain, both physically and mentally.

My depression had worsened during that time. After seeing several doctors who couldn't figure out what was wrong with me, I felt alone and worried that I would never get better. To make things worse, I pushed myself to the edge by working two jobs, eventually going to physical therapy twice a week and staying in school full-time.

However, I couldn't let that experience break me. I had to be strong and make the decision to use everything that happened as fuel to propel myself forward.

Now in its third year of existence on the internet, I'm ready for BriaAlex to go further.

BriaAlex is a space for learning what it means to explore yourself, develop your skills and goals and facilitate growth within your own life.

And, what makes this blog so unique is that I’m working on these things too.

I’ll be the first to say I’m no expert, nor am I perfect, but I’m working to provide you with information from experts along with my own experiences.

I’m hoping you’ll stick around for the long haul and if you are, feel free to follow me on my social media pages as well. And, if you’re looking for an audio version of this blog, you can check out my podcast, Young Adulting, everywhere you listen to podcasts.

Let's be the strong women this world needs by taking time for our own self-development.
